Once in a lifetime

I went to see Uncreation on Saturday, which was an awesome experience because they seriously rocked Amityville. They were even better than the last time I saw them and I really like their new material. Which is a big thing because I'm not even a metal fan. Chris' solos are insane.

While hanging out after the show I found out that a friend of mine had extra tickets to the St. John's vs. Georgetown game, which would be the first game ever played at the new Citifield. Though it was rainy and cold Sunday afternoon, I headed over because I am a huge Mets fan. It was well worth it. There are few words to describe the stadium. It is gorgeous. The Jackie Robinson rotunda nearly brought tears to my eyes. I was glad to see that the crickety old Home Run Apple we all loved, made it's way to the new stadium in one piece. While it was incredibly sad to see the pile of rubble where Shea Stadium once stood, seeing that beautiful piece of architecture in it's place makes the sadness dissipate just a tad. I'll always have the memories of the incredible highs and heart-breaking lows that I experienced in Shea Stadium and can only hope for many more to come at Citi Field.
